# of invites w/o going over!
I booked my RH guaranteeing 160 people. How many people should I invite to get to 160 but without going over? 190? 200? Can I do 210 or will I go over? TIA!

It really depends on who you are inviting. If you have a large family and know most will come, the 210 might put you over. When I did my list, next to each name I put Definite, Maybe and No and then I added them. I knew some would be a no because they are either very ill or do not have the money to travel to NY for the wedding.
That's hard to say...Have you put together your guest list yet? If you have and it's 160 on the nose then you don't have anything to worry about, but if you haven't then see how many people you want to invite, however if I were you I wouldn't invite more than 200 and there is no way of telling that you're going to get exactly 160. You have to be prepared to go over a little.
I am inviting about 140-160 but only need 75 invites (approx) my list includes couples that receive one or a family that receives one
I would order 80 invites so that way you have enough for 160 guests.
we invited 220 and wound up with 170, which was what we wanted...in our case, we knew we were getting a lot of 'no's' from OOT guests, but they were people we HAD to invite. we just made a list of how many expected no's we had and judged it that way.
I'm inviting about 190 and expecting 140 to reply yes. We went through the list and picked out who we didn't think would come based on what our parents said.
i would stagger the invite and rsvp dates in like a-list and b-list. you might have more control over it that way.
we have to guarantee 175 and we are inviting 200 plus i will have a b list just in case
I read in an article that 15% of people you invite will decline the invititation, but not sure if this is actually true!
Don't invite too may over unelss you're sure several won't come. we followed that rule of inviting the extra % and it bit us in the @ss big time. EVERYONE came!
