# of Wedding Party - need advice
I got cornered by my FIs aunt this weekend - and do want to make everyone happy. Tell me if this party seemd too big... guests 150-175 1 MOH (my sister) 5 BM (my cousin, FI's cousin, 1 HS friend, 2 college friends) 1 BMan (FI's Brother) 5 Ushers (his friends - 2 as close as family) But heres where his aunt comes in...Her other daughter (one will be my BM) will be 14 and asked me in front of her if she could be jr BM. I love her, but FI also has 2 nieces (4 &14) and nephew (10). Heres the QUESTION: would it be too much to have the 1 MOH, 5 BMs, 2 jr BM and flower girl and 1 BMan, 5 Ushers and what do I do with the 10-year old nephew?? (ring bearer???- is he too old?) Please help me!!!! My mother already told me to be careful who I ask so it doesn't get out of control...

Well, my fiance and I are having about 100 people at our wedding. We are having 7 people on both sides. I'm having my Man of Honor and 6 bridemaids and he's having his Best Man and 6 groomsmen. So, I wouldn't worry about it. My wedding party is way too big, but when you start inviting 1, then you have to invite the other, and so on!!! I just want to please everyone and not deal with any issues. So, I don't think your wedding party is too big. Good luck!

Other options......
It's large, but not too big if you don't mind, however, it will add to some of the confusion and the costs. First off, enlist Fi's help if possible when it comes to dealing with his family. My husband said from day one that he did not want anyone in his family getting mad at me over our decisions and he would handle all the sticky issues with them. So if you decide not to go with his aunt's desires then let him tell her so. Secondly, what about some other ways to get them involved? The 10 year old could be put in charge of the guest book, making sure everyone signs it and that it does not get misplaced or left behind. He really is kind of old to be a ring bearer. The 4 year old would be a cute flower girl if you think her temperment could handle it, but she'd never miss it if she's not included. As for the 2 14 year olds - rather than have them in the bridal party itself, perhaps you could have them do something special like stand on either side of the church door to hand out programs as guests enter, and the bubbles or similar toss-item when they exit. Get them a pretty corsage. It sounds like the younger sister is excited about it and wants to be involved. Maybe she could have an important role in the shower planning too.

I am having 130-150 at my wedding and I have 7 on my side and my fiance has 5 along with 2 flower girls. It seems like allot, but I didn't want to regret leaving anyone out. There are so many details to get concerned about, whether there are 5 or 10 it really doesn't matter as long as you can be happy with your decision. Worry more about whether or not you want them in it, rather than the #.

It's not too much if that is what you want. If not, simply explain the situation and maybe have your Aunt's daughter do something else (reading, gift bearing, whatever your service has). If you do want all of them, the 10 yr old maybe a little old for ringbearer, but he can be a Junior Usher with two lovely Jr. Bridesmaids (one on each arm!). How cute!

Why don't you give her another job like passing out bubbles (or whatever will be tossed) or programs or something like that. I might try saying something like 'I am afraid that if I have her as a jr. bm then the party would get too big but I would love for her to be a part of my day so I will find a job for her.' Of course I can say this in writing but if this were me I would probably chicken out.Welcome New Vendors
