Off Site Photo-Journalist

Hi Girls!

We are getting married in September. It is a Jewish Saturday night wedding, so the ceremony starts at 8pm, followed by reception.

We hired an excellent photo-journalist and photographer (Riccardo Studios) and they really suggest taking off-site photos before the wedding... They suggest the Old Westbury Gardens, which is roughly 20 min from the club where we are getting married.

My mom is a bit concerned about the added stress of being ready a few hours earlier than normal for the extra travel time and organizational stuff (including my stress level on the day of).

Has anyone seen this? Or been in a wedding party that did this?

I really think the off-site photos could really make the albums amazing, but is it worth the added stress/time on the day of the wedding?

I welcome any and all experiences with this.

:)

We are taking our pics at OWG before the ceremony, Honestly Yes it is a minimal extra stress because we have to start extra early in the morning to get to the gardens by 2, but it will be well worth it when we get the pics back...

For you since your ceremony isnt until 8, you will still have plenty of time in the AM to get ready. IMO they are absolutly worth it...

Another thing my mom keeps wondering is if my dress is going to be very dirty afterwards... She's making me worry! But I want these gorg pics so bad.

You are getting married very close to my RH (oheka) and i know from some spots at your RH you can have the castle in the background. I would make sure to take pictures there.

We're allotting 2 1/2 hours in our day schedule to take pictures at a beach and lighthouse, during this time we're also going to get all family portraits done too, that way we can enjoy cocktail hour. We have video and photo for 9 hours so we have enough time to do that. I care a lot about having good pictures and video!
