Off Site Photos AFTER the Wedding

Hi girls,

My fiancee and I really wanted to get some extra photos for our album... We live in the city, but we're getting married in LI.

My photographer suggested that 2 weeks after we get home from the honeymoon, that we get dressed again - including hair and makeup and the dress... and take shots throughout the city. He's only charging $400 extra...

Has anyone done this? Is this a realistic option?

My friend got married in Mexcio and did a trash the dress session after the wedding.. I thought that she was insane but she had awesome photos on the beach and in the water. I'm a little jealous of them!! She ended up selling her dress on ebay after she got it dry cleaned.

Wow I didn't think the dress could really be cleaned after 'trashing the dress' ..After the money being spent on it.. I can't see trashing it!

RE: trashing the dress... I've actually heard of photographers that get red paint and go nuts with it on the dress.

I posted on the 2011 board, but it doesn't really get trashed. I jumped in the ocean at Coney Island in my actual wedding dress and it still lives to tell the tale- there's not a stain or a watermark on it. It's actually cleaner than it was initially after the wedding.

But back to the original question... I love the idea! You don't have to do anything crazy with your dress- but it's nice to go and do it again when the pressure is off. Enjoy!

I'm a little nervous that i wont fit into the dress after all the eating on the honeymoon! ahaha

I didn't do it but my photographer suggested it. I would've done it if my dress didn't get dirty.

ETA: it wasn't for a TTD shoot. It was just to take pics in another location.
