Hey ladies! I'm new here and also a 2010 bride. We are booking the Swan Club for 10/17/10 in the Camelot room. Soooooo excited!!! It's really a gorgeous venue and I've been hearing nothing but great things. My only concern is the cake. Has anyone seen the designs you're allowed to choose from??? I read one review (from a while back) that said they gave 2 choices and both looked like they were from the 70's so I'm a little nervous about that. Anyway, congrats to all 2010 brides!!! Happy planning - wooo hooo!!!!

great, thanks!!! isn't the camelot room gorgeous!!! i love it. i was a little nervous cause it can hold up to 233 ppl and we're thinking we'll have about 165 so I was nervous that it would seem too big but Jordana reassured me it would be perfect and I trust her so I'm not worried. Are you having your ceremony there also???

Hi there fellow SC brides,

I wanted to ask if any of you are having a DOC for your big day. I got some quotes from some LIW vendors and I dont think it will be in my budget. Im probably going to have to enlist a friend to help set up etc. Does anyone know if Swan Club will allow brides to come the night before to set up? Im having a 1pm ceremony there as well, so I think Im the first (should be only?) wedding in the Garden Room.

I'm actually going there on Sunday - FH and I are bringing both sets of parents to see the place. I'll try to remember to ask them for you

So FH and I brought both sets of parents to see the Swan Club yesterday and we had a great time.

We're almost a year away from the big day!

As promised, I have the answer regarding set-up when you aren't hiring a DOC. Our wedding is early (ceremony is at the RH at 11:30 a.m.); they told me that if we're hiring a florist, they can arrive as early as 9 a.m. to set up centerpieces. If you're making your own centerpieces (this is what I'm planning to do), they suggest recruiting a responsible person who is NOT in your wedding party to do the set-up. They can also arrive as early as 9 a.m.

HTH!

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. We've got time though!

I also asked the following:

- Is an aisle runner provided? (Yes.)
- How do rehearsals work? (RIght before day-of; they can work with you so you do not see the groom OR earlier that week, on a Mon., Tues. or Wed. night)
- What can be thrown when the couple exits the ceremony? (Bubbles or rose petals. Some people also release butterflies)

Hi ladies,

Hope everyone is doing well with their planning.

I had an issue that I wanted to ask you ladies about.

I recently received a letter from Swan Club reminding me about my second payment next month. On the letter though it says that they prefer to have payments mailed and not hand delivered. Well, my plan was to pay me next 2 payments half cash and half credit card. So I just called to speak with the banquet manager who booked me Mike. He wasn’t there so another BM Sandra explained that they only take credit cards for the initial deposit. Then only cash and checks thereafter?! I explained to her that this was not explained to me and I wasn’t informed about this. She said I can leave a message for Mike, which I have, and am awaiting a return phone call.
Is anyone else making payments by credit card? Or is this listed on your contract? I am at work right now and do not have my contract in front of me. But I am almost certain that this was not indicated on the contract as well? I am really freaking out right now, because we just bought a house and do not have all the cash at the moment. As my plan was to pay half credit card and half cash and then make final balance payment in cash. Now I may have to cancel/postpone my wedding.!!

Please help!
