Offical Leonard's Bride Thread

I saw that there were official Leonard's threads in the past but none were recent. Who is getting married at Leonard's and what room are you getting married at?

A Leonard's thread!!!

I'm getting married at Leonard's on May 24, 2009 and having my reception in the Empire room.

have you heard anything about the Leonards cake? I read a few posts on here where they call it the mystery cake.

A friend of mine got married at Leonard's recently. I've heard from a few different people who went to their wedding that their food was 'so-so' and the cake was 'awful'.
I had heard good & decent things about Leonard's in the past so I was surprised to hear this. Maybe places just have their bad nights and this happened to be one of them? But it made me think twice about considering them in my hall selections.

Continental. I saw the cake and didn't like the look very much. If you really want to see it they will show it to you as well as your choices for upgrades.

Thanks for the honest feedback. Every place will have reviews on both sides...can't please everyone. Hopefully, it was just an off night.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do about my cake either....I haven't seen 'the book of mystery cakes', lol. I heard the free ones look a bit dated and they are one the smaller side....I really don't want to spend the extra money on a cake though when it's included

Re: Offical Leonard's Bride Thread

I just got married there on 7/25 (continental room for ceremony, tiffany crystal for CH, starlite venetian for reception)..... the cocktail hour that they put out is unbelievable....people were telling us that it was the best cocktail hour they had ever been to (and these were people who have been to oheka, lands end, everywhere). The dinner was good too, no complaints but it didnt stand out like the CH did. It was more average whereas the CH was over the top amazing.

I did NOT use their cake- I was very scared, especially since I had a very specific and elaborate design in my mind and was researching bakers, one said that he knew the baker Leonard's used and he didnt have the capacity to do the cake I wanted. So I went with an outside cake. They do not give you anything off if you don't use their cake.

Also, we did the full Vienesse, and again it was over the top incredible! In starlight-venetian they use the attached bridal suite so they fold the doors back and theres this room filled with all types of dessert!!! The guests werent expecting that!

Leonard's came through for about 98% of the night with everything I requested. All of the teeny problems were with the ceremony. The chairs werent set up the way we had discussed- the whole room was supposed to be angled differently. They forgot to light our candles so we had something to light the unity candle off (officiant had to use a lighter)... the biggest problem of the night was that they forgot to roll out my custom monogram aisle runner!!! SO i was upset for a minute and got over it.... however they are doing the right thing and reimbursing us for the full amount I spent on it.

That being said, the minor problems that we had with the ceremony didnt ruin the fact that everything else was absolutely perfect!!! In the grand scheme of things that had to go on that night, the ceremony errors were miniscule. I was so happy with everything else. Still getting compliments galore (especially on that CH!!)

If anyone has specific questions, feel free to FM!

I'm getting married at Leonard's on Nov. 8th as well. I'm getting married in the Tiffany Crystal Room

I'm not to worried about the cake being that I have a full Vienesse hour. There are 3 free cakes to choose from and then they have a book filled with other choices.

I think I will probably go with their cake and upgrade it because it's not really in my budget to spend a lot of money on a cake. We are doing the Viennese Hour so there will be a lot of desserts to choose from. Is anyone going for the tasting at the end of September?

I might. They added a few more things to our CH. Do you know when it is?

Re: Offical Leonard's Bride Thread

My BM is Maurizio and he said that he would be away the first 2 weeks of September and to call him on the 15th and he would give me the dates. He said there were 2 at the end of the month. I really want to go to make sure that everything on our menu is what we really want. Maybe they will have a cake there that day lol.
