Since its a slow day, I figured I'd start the thread. I will keep a list of the dates that CLM brides are getting married (as we do with the official date thread).
As was said, i think this will be a good thread as we get closer to the dates and have questions about CLM.
January
February 2/23- failurebydsign 2/24/07- Espo22 (Engagement party)
March 3/15- HappyToBreathe 3/15 - Heather1 3/16 - Nifheim
November 11/1 - thelastMrsG 11/8 - Saram 11/29- cherish83

does anyone else feel that the deposit amount for CLM is a little much?? they get to gain intrest on the money instead of me. just a thought!
I did at first, I mean yes they get $5,000 plus the interest that accumulates but in all honesty it helps me and FH out by at least having the bulk paid WAY before our wedding. This way it help us do other stuff. That and I have my wedding fund in a saving plan to generate interest (a whole 10 cents) but it makes us always have $500 in the account otherwise it closes. So the payment plan forces us to keep putting money away.
Thats exaclty how i felt and now that the 5000 is paid for we dont have to worry about that for a long time (almost 20 months!) SO now we finally get to see money accumulate in the savings account!!!

You are better off paying off as much as you can at first...You dont want to sit there right before the wedding owing a VERY large sum...The problem with that is when something is over a year away you'll keep thinking you have time to save and then right before you're gonna stress yourself out

yeah i am happy it will be paid off partially...5000 is only a small dent into the final payment anyway, that is how i feel....FH and i are just splitting all of our down payments and paying 500 each, it is not as bad that way.

Thats true.. and we've thought about making more payments. I think come the summer we'll pay another 2 or 3000 getting it up to 8000 paid and maybe another 2 or 3000 at the one year mark so thats 10-11000 total paid, and then its really almost all paid

Yeah its a better feeling to know you are taking care of it and most of it is paid off, rather than stressing about it

yeah i know.. and we arent paying for anything else big. The other expense we have is HM and DJ and then all the little things that add up such as invites, bp gifts, favors.. etc etc etc!!!
But luckily dress, flowers, limos and photo/video are being paid for by our families

thats a good idea to add extra payments....FH and i will prob do this too! that will make it seem a lot less painful in the end....plus, we calculated how much we will pay total for RH based on everyone we invitied.....(250) and...obviously not everyone is going to come, (i am really hoping for 200 or under to show, 250 is way too many people for me, and very expensive )so hopefully it will feel like less than we thought in the end!

i know i have a budgeting worksheet in excel that changes the total we owe depending on guests... we will probably end up inviting around 190.. but im hoping the total is closer to 160-170

Re: **** Official 2008 Chateau La Mer Thread ****
sorry if this doesnt make sense...
Vieneese(sp) hour is an extra $15/person as many of you know. I dont want to pay that bc i know so many people dont even eat the food. I would however love to extend my reception an extra hour. do you know if they would let me do so and bring in some of my own desserts? I would want to set up a table on my own. I think I can do it it for a lot less than $15/person. let me know if any of you have thought about this or something like this!
thanks

Its about 3-5 per person for an extra hour...Talk to them about it bc i asked about this for my e-party but it might be different for a wedding but at my RH it was the same price so its probably the norm
