Hey ladies, This is for all of us Westchester Brides out there (any anyone else looking for info or ideas of course). I love LIW and have gotten a TON of great ideas on here, but it may be helpful for us to have our own thread so we can share local vendors, places, ideas. I'll start w/my info and what I'm still looking for that would be great if it's local to Westchester.

Any new Westchester bride updates??? I just wanted to say I booked my photographer with Peter Oberc and today I also tentatively booked my florist with Daniel Florals & Designs. I had him make me a sample and was so *blown away* that I cannot even talk about it. I don't have pictures yet but you will die when you see what he put together. Other than that I have no news .... would love some hair and makeup recommendations in Westchester though if someone had them.

You don't have to use a hair/makeup person in Westchester. Most hair/mu artists travel. Mine are from Queens and they're coming up to White Plains where I'll be getting ready.
Hope the planning is going well. I am looking for video now. Anyone have any suggestions?
I don't have any suggestions for you in Westchester....but most photo/video places will travel anywhere w/in the metro area. Have you checked out anyone in the city or queen/nassau...or even north jersey, like bergen county? Try posting on the vendor board maybe and see what kind of feedback you get?

I went to the Crowne Plaza yesterday and they told me that it would take 35 minutes via shuttle to get to the venue on a Sat night with typical traffic. That seems like a lot to ask of guests. Any one have any other thoughts?

I feel your pain. I'm a Westchester bride having my reception on LI. I'm getting this summer on a Saturday so you can just imagine the traffic! I'm getting married at The chapel of the Immaculate Conception at the college of Mount Saint Vincent.
Don't stress...as long as everyone leaves a little early they will get there on time.

I don't think it's too much, better than having to drive...they just sit back and relax on the shuttle, but if you want more hotel options.....there's a Radisson in New Rochelle...there's also a Marriott in Tarrytown and on the other side of White Plains.
