Re: ***Official African American Brides Thread***
Ladies i posted this on the 07 board but I am so through with my cousin - She has a few issues a lot has to do with jealousy and she is not being cooperative with being a BMI am so fed up right now with my cousin who is my BM - She has not paid me any money for the dress, does not return my phone calls, is not being cooperative with my MOH - just a real pain - There is so much more to this issue but I do nto want to bore everyone - I am waiting for her to call me back so I can release her from her BM duties - She is not being supportive at all - My Bridal Party is supposed to consist of people who are supportive and loving and she is the complete opposite.

That's insane, my cousin is starting to act a little wierd too! What is this, a black thing
And my cousin is supposed to be MOH...we'll see how that goes...but you're definitely not alone...you can't let a BM, or anyone for that matter ruin such a special time for you...

Thanks Ladies - I don't want there to be any drama - but I just talked to her and now there is a new twist in the story - She claims she is moving out of the country in 8/1. But I just want the money back that I spent on the deposit for the dress.

Girl keep your head up. We are all going to go through this. It is your wedding and you dont need any stress right now so I suggust you give her one last chance and then cut her loose if she upsets you again. I say give her another chance because she is family. Keep your head up

I was considering giving her another chance - but I have already given her a few - I am trying to keep the peace for my GAMMY's sake - she is so excited about the wedding and because of the close relationship I have with my cousin my Gammy wants to see her in the wedding. I cannot hurt an 82 year old woman........ But I might have to talk to Gammy

Re: ***Official African American Brides Thread***
Nothing really, right now I'm just trying to figure out a good first dance song...FH wants a soulful song (and so do I) so we were thinking either I only have eyes for you by the flamingos, or He loves me by jill scott (which I would definitely recommend) but we cant use the jill scott song because someone we know already used it for their wedding and he's indifferent about the flamingos song...so do any of you have any recommendations for a good SOULFUL first dance song?

Re: ***Official African American Brides Thread***
that is a good question - I love 'Brown skin - by India Arie but I dont think that is a good first dance song - I cannot think off hand but doesn't Jill Scott have a new album - see if she has anything on that album - besides that nothing jumps in my head at the moment

Girl tell me about it..i am so fed up with all my BM's...my problem is with them ordering their dresses. I keep telling them that time is running out (but they think because the wedding is not until 8/25 that they have all the time in the world). I just keep telling them, when the day is here and they do not have their dresses...they will NOT be in the wedding.....I AM WAY TOO STRESSED OUT BY ALL OF IT!!!
