When I first visited, Maurizio was the one that showed me around, but I didn't book that day...but I decided I wanted to book the very next day but Maurizio wasn't there, so Patrick did the contract with me...I've been back about 2 or 3 times since then and I met with both of them just to go over a few things and to find out if I could get things replaced or exchanged, and I like Maurizio better because he's willing to work with you more..he wants to make sure you're satisfied with everything before you leave so I consider Maurizio as my BM...whenever I decide to go back, i'm going to meet with him, he's such a great guy! Patrick is nice too, but waayyy less lenient

Inn at Great Neck at $190 plus tax
The Andrew at $179 plus tax
The Adria Ramada at $145 plus tax
The Anchor Inn at $111 plus tax

The Anchor Inn looks nice from the outside (haven't been inside)...don't forget that NYC hotel tax is ~15.5% (i think it's sales tax plus additional hotel tax). We're actually choosing hotels that are closer to our church and we'll provide transportation for OOT guests to the reception and back.

SO true that Maurizio is more willing to work with you!

When we first went, we met with Antonio who was nice; when we went back a week later to ask some more questions, Antonio wasn't there, so we met with Maurizio, and that's who we've worked with ever since!

My BM is Ernest. He's a nice guy in person, he was great showing us around and explaining the great details about Leonard's but after we
signed the contract our communication has been very limited. I moved out of town and am unable 2 visit often so I email him with my questions or
concerns. He takes at least a week to respond. And since the time is nearing he's been trying 2 push me off to Ian, the person who does the
final arrangements. I e-mailed Ernest about tastings.....he told me 2 contact Ian. I asked about rehearsal dates....he told me 2 contact Ian.
I asked about wrap ups with choosing linens and cakes,etc....he told me 2 contact Ian. So when he's looking for his fee or tip, I'm going 2 tell
him to contact Ian!

About tastings..... I was told they occur once a month. I am also concerned about the cake because the feedback I've gotten has been
mixed, some love it others hate it. I'm not a cake fan but I would like to taste it very soon.....maybe I'll just contact Ian. Lol

Too funny, but so true. He is the one who told me that I could get the cake to my liking. it seems that once the deposit was in hand, Ernest's dealing were limited.

I got a call from Bleu Diamond which is their complementary coordinating service; I haven't used them since I found most of my vendors myself already, but I may go see them to get prices on invitations.

After booking, I didn't do much really regarding the hall...I started making a list of questions I wanted to ask them, and when the list got big enough, I went in and spoke to Maurizio (he answered all of them).

He also told me that if I had more questions, it wasn't necesary to wait nor to come in, I could call him if necessary. And he mentioned that at some point I'd be seeing Ian to finalize all the details.

Does anyone know how many months before the wedding date you get to see Ian?

Im kind of annoyed right now....today I realized that Leonards is taxing the 18% 'service charge'. I called and asked why...i never knew you could tax a tip. He said (my bm...who I love, I know its not his fault, hes just the messenger) that the service charge is not really a tip. Im confused? Then what the heck is the service charge for?

I think you see him 2 months before the wedding. B/C I wasnt in NY I saw him one month before. I wasnt crazy about him though. I love Maurizio though!!!

Same here I haven't gotten any calls from them!! When I booked I had questions about things I wanted to add on to our menu and my BM kinda cut me off and said we can do that when we're finalizing our menu. I know that's true but I feel like now I have no bargaining power since we've already booked

Don't even get me started on Bleu diamond. Ernest told me I get a complimentary wedding planner for booking with Leonards. Her name is Gina. Gina called me a week after I booked in August and we spoke for 10 minutes. She sad she would call back that Wednesday and I never heard from her again!!

About 4 months later I called Ernest about something different when he asked about Gina. I explained the situation and he got her to get in touch with me. When she finally does she forgets that we even spoke. She tries to make nice by asking what I need but since I've been planning alone I only needed small things. She set up a meeting with me to come on one Thursday to pick out invitations. She told me I could come at anytime. My maid of honor and I showed up to her office and there is no Gina. Her co worker calls her and tells her I'm there and she says it wasn't on her calendar at all. She was at a rehearsal dinner! I was furious! Needless to say I would not be doing any kind of business with Bleu Diamond. And anyone dealing with Gina...beware!!!

I promise my next post is going to be positive. LOL..... Bad things just seem to happen to me!
