I love Reem Acra, her dresses are absolutly beautiful. My dress is by Kenneth Pool, which has many similar dresses. I think he is amazing as well.

Actually Reem and Kenneth used to work together-- hence the similarities!

Re: Official Reem Acra Brides Thread

I absolutely love a new Reem Acra dress 'Adored' but was thinking of having it modified to be strapless (there are now really elegant straps that just loop around the arm), which would raise the low back up enough for support? I was told it could be done.

What do you ladies think? Is it worth it to have the dress modified or should I just go with a strapless that was meant to be strapless.

Has anyone else had their Reem Acra dress modified/customized and how did it turn out in the end?

Thanks for your feedback.

Also, if anyone has a pic of this particular dress, please post.

I wanted to do that - because I LOVED a pattern - but they told me it really would be insanely expensive to make the change - she has a lot of strapless though - so give it another look - go to a lot of salons - they all have different dresses

Re: Official Reem Acra Brides Thread

Greetings from a Reem fan/lurker...FYI - a few weekends ago I was at a sample sale at The Wedding Workshop in NYC and they had a few Reems for like $1450!!!!!!! I was shocked that they were so inexpensive (so to speak). Not sure when they are having another one, but they had great deals - Vera Wang, Carolina Herarra, etc... all under $2000!!

The Wedding Workshop was just started by former editor or Martha Stewart Weddings, Anne Chertoff. Her wedding is actually featured in the latest issue - she's the one with the lavender theme. She even had a similar replica of her Vera Wang there.

I already have my dress, I went there looking for veils, but I didn't find anything. She does have a website, but I do not remember what it is right now. Sorry!!

I highly recommend going to her next sale whenever it may be!!

I would check out her salon- and the places in the area that have her dresses are Kleinfeld- who actually just had a trunk show this weekend- and Wedding Salon of Manhasset.

Her dresses in the Rose collection start at $2900 and her main line, I would say start at about $3800 and go way up-- but they are gorgeous-- can't wait to see mine!!

Re: Official Reem Acra Brides Thread

MY dress came in this week.

Finally. 8 months in the making. I ran to the WSM and it was breathtaking. I was so nervous because I had ordered a combo of two dresses, and I had nightmares that it would come in wrong, or in the wrong color. I have a fitting on Saturday, I cant wait to see it again.
