I'm officially engaged!!! We're the couple who booked the reception before actually getting engaged so we wouldn't lose our date. Did things a little backwards, but we're finally official. It happened this Saturday. I was totally suprised, and am so happy. Just wanted to share!
Thanks for 'listening'!

Re: Officially engaged!
Thanks!
It's neat to know we're not the only ones who did things a little 'unconventionally'!

Re: Officially engaged!
Congrats... my friend actually just booked her hall (PJCC) and she isn't engaged yet.. she's getting married in July of 2006 and it was the only Sunday night in July that they had open and that's for 2006.. so I can understand getting the place when you know you are going to be getting engaged... CONGRATS!

(She thought she was going to be getting on the LIRR that morning to see Richard in the city.) Once at JFK, she was led to the Jet Blue terminal where a ticket to Rochester was waiting for her. Confused, but excited, Kerri boarded the plane for Rochester, and took what seemed like the longest 52 minute flight in the history of air travel. Once in Rochester, a state trooper holding a sign bearing Richard’s nickname for Kerri, met her at the airport and drove her to Richard’s house in Naples...Hunt Hollow -the place where they met and fell in love 10 months earlier. There inside, waiting at the top of a staircase adorned with candles and lavender rose petals, was Richard. After hesitating for a moment, because she didn’t want to step on and ruin the rose petals, Kerri met Richard at the top of the stairs, where after a beautiful speech about true love and the reality of fairytales, Richard got down on one knee and proposed.'
