For those of you not getting married in a Church/Synagogue may I ask how much you budgeted for officiant? My reception hall has a price for ceremony, but of course the officiant is separate.
Any ideas?? I have no idea if this is a 100 dollar thing or a 1000 dollar thing!!!!!!

Re: Officiant
We are getting married at the Historical Chapel in Woodbury. We paid a flat fee for the chapel, officiant and organist.
From what I have found, an officiant costs anywhere from $300 - $500.....hope this helps!

Re: Officiant
I have interfaith clergy preforming the ceremony, at the reception hall. They charge $400 and that includes microphones alter decorations and a couple of other little things. If you want more info let me know.

Re: Officiant
I'm using Rev. Janine and she is wonderful. Very friendly and puts you right at ease. Her ceremony's seem to be very unique. I believe she charges on average between $400-$500 depending.

Re: Officiant
We are having an interfaith ceremony and we have been quoted anywhere between $500 - $1000 for 1-2 officiants. I don't think my dress will cost that much!

Re: Officiant
Dawn - I am still looking for an officiant! Who are you using? Is there a priest and a rabbi? I have a priest but am still looking for a rabbi that doesn't want to charge me $1000!!! Thanks! Sandy

Re: Officiant
Sandy, it's a interfaith clergy I booked, otherwise I would have booked a priest. I didn't think you could get a priest to perform a ceremony outside a church. Rev Florence and Irwin Schnurman 631-345-3606. I really liked them. Did you get my forum mail, I FINALLY booked Kimjon! You were right she was great. Let me know if you need more info. Dawn

Re: Officiant
Dawn - did you get my forum mail? How do your officiants perform the ceremony (catholic/jewish/non-religious)? I have a priest but he will only perform outside the church if I have a rabbi present - and that is only b/c my FI is not catholic. If he was, we would have to get married in the church if we wanted a priest. Where are the officiants located? Can you tell me more about them? thanks!

Re: Officiant
Sandy-go to www.weddingclergy.com that's their website. They're going to perform the ceremony as close to catholic as possible. I'm catholic and FH is prespyterian(sp)? But we really wanted a ceremony on the beach and neither one of is very religious. They were a really nice couple who do the ceremony together. They have all these different choices as to what to do. They live in Middle island, but they said traveling to Montauk is not a problem and have been to Gurney's a couple of times. They do book up really early. I called them early summer and they only had 6/21 left in all of June. Go to their website and e-mail her ASAP if your interested. It's costs $400 I believe. I didn't get your forum mail until after I replied before. Good Luck, Dawn

Re: Officiant
We spoke to a few officiants, and the range was 400-600. The woman we decided on met with us 3 times before the ceremony and ran us through our rehersal in addition to performing the ceremony. It was a wonderful, personal experience. We had the opportunity to make the ceremony 'real' since we worked along with her to script it out. Her name is Eva Ceskava, I'd be happy to share additional information if you are interested.
