Officiant cost?

How much are you paying for your officiant?

We're using April at Church of Ancient Ways. She told us anywhere from $400 - $600 and she's leaving that up to us. But because she's coming to do the rehearsal and we love what she's written, we're probably paying her the full $600.

It was cheaper to join the congregation for a year than to pay for the officiants!

$600 for the first officiant and $400 for the 2nd. $700 to join the congegation!!

Nothing....my dad's x-girlfriend became a reverand after he broke up w/ her--and she is coming from Denver to officate the wedding..i love her and it is a dream for me...the cost is 'priceless', but i am sure my dad will feel a bit weird, my mom loves her as well....of course we will give her something or pay for her airfare if she flies here...

I am using April from Church of Ancient Way too!!
She's so great, and totally flexible on price...we will definitely over-tip!! She is making it so special....! And really, the ceremony is THE most important thing after all.

Wow! My FMIL called the synagogue and asked what the rabbi typically gets for weddings (he told us that he won't take a dime, but we can make a donation to the synagogue), and they told her around $200. Now I feel like I'll be cheaping out, but I really can't afford to give much more than that. Bleh. I wish they would just charge a fee rather than be nice and just tell us whatever we want to donate will be fine.
