Officiant - FREAKING OUT!!!!!!!
So, we called one Rev.... he was recommended from a few of the RH's we visited, they said he was great. I called and I got a really nice feeling from him... I'm just so worried b/c he doesn't meet with you before the day, he does EVERYTHING by phone calls. We are not religious but plan on incorporating some religious & spirituality, and we heard that he was VERY good at that (Rev. Vincent Sica)Please this is something that I'm really freaking out over!

Re: Officiant - FREAKING OUT!!!!!!!
i wouldn't book with anybody without having met him first. i would tell him that and if he still is unwilling to meet you (even once), then i'd go with someone else.recommendations ultimately don't mean that much ... you need to be able to click with someone face-to-face

Re: Officiant - FREAKING OUT!!!!!!!
I HIGHLY recommend Deborah Roth - she has meetings and plans the ceremony with you not for you.

Re: Officiant - FREAKING OUT!!!!!!!
Ive mostly gone back n forth with my officint through emails and phone calls- doubt I will have time to meet with her before wedding but Im confident with her - shes pretty awesome, I did alot of searches and had recommendations to her . I know that doesnt work ut for everybody not meeting someone before hand but you have to do what your gut is telling you.

Re: Officiant - FREAKING OUT!!!!!!!
I never met our officiant before the wedding, just spoke through emails back and forth. The day of, we met him and LOVED him, he was great and had a sense of humor which was even better

Re: Officiant - FREAKING OUT!!!!!!!
Most of our vendors were booked over the phone since we were 12 hours away from LI at the time. The one vendor (besides the RH, of course) that we wanted to meet in person was the officiant, but we also knew it would be the most stressful vendor for us to book (we are agnostic, my mom is a born-again, dh's family is jewish). i had no problem booking people on the phone, but i can understand why meeting them in person would calm your nerves!BTW, i worked with Pastor April and she's my hero .
