Re: officiant help
When we met Pastor April - we just sat with her and she asked us a bunch of questions & our answers helped her write our ceremony.
It would be a good idea to know if you want a very religious ceremony, or how much religion you want. That's the only thing I can really think of....

Re: officiant help
We didn't either...had no clue walking in - but she made us feel very comfortable... Most of her ?? we had no clue - so we worked it out with her..
How do you want everyone walking in? We don't know - let's figure it out...
Do you want blah blah & blah blah....
It's a very casual thing - Pastor April made us feel very comfortable..

Re: officiant help
I was super nervous about meeting with the officiant too... i saved it for last and kept putting it off, but the moment we met with Rev. Deb, we knew she was the one and we felt comfortable with her right away...

Re: officiant help
We used Rev. Devincenzo and he was AWESOME! He asked basic questions about how we met, and how long we've been together, what our interests are, etc. Then he wanted to know what kind of ceremony we wanted. There's three kinds, very religious, spiritual, and then a civil ceremony. So try to figure out what you want ahead of time so you don't sit there and argue in front of the person, lol.

Re: officiant help
I guess we kind of have some ideas, but I guess since I grew up in a non-religous family (non-practicing) I'm nervous, i have no idea what going to happen, when you go to a florist or dj, you know what you want, i feel like i am going in blind here! thanks for everyone advice

Re: officiant help
What was interesting to me about meeting w/officiants was that they're the most important person you'll book, but most people really don't think about what they want from that person! I think you have to have a good feeling and be comfortable with the person. Try to have a preliminary chat w/FH about what you want your ceremony to be like, so that you can have a good conversation w/the officiants you do meet. Good luck! Don't worry about it--they've most likely done this a bunch of times before, so they'll know what to do/how to help you.
