Officiant - HELP!

Ok so I'm a catholic girl marrying my dear sweet jew FH...

FH gets super creeped out by priests so there was never a chance of ever having one even if it was possible.

I love the idea of an interfaith ceremony where there's a pastor (deacon, what have you ) and a rabbi come together and talk about the beauty of two faiths joining and all that stuff...

But FH won't have it. I haven't had the strength to argue over it and he's completely stubborn on this topic. He says he either wants just a rabbi or a regular non-denominational officiant.

Problem here... I don't really care if we get married by 1 rabbi or 20 rabbis. i just don't want a creepy person of any kind non-denominational or not .

Does anyone know of any 'normal' officiants? FH's rabbi from when he was bar/bat mitzvahed is reformed and modern so i'm cool with him. i just need a good officiant I can go to him with.

However, can I ask why FH hate deacons so much?! haha - oh and I think the inter faith ceremony sounds SO nice! That was a really good idea!

You must meet with Rev Deb she is amazing and has been doing interfaith weddings forever!!!!!!!!

She is doing catholic hindu ceremony for us!!!!! she makes the ceremony personal too!!! go on weddingwire and you can see her views!!!!!!!!!

He has no clue the difference between priest/pastor/deacon/reverand etc. His only argument is 'molestors!!!' i know he really doesn't think this- he just says it to be stupid and think he'll 'win'

My family, especially my grandparents, are very religious. They are eucharistic ministors at their church! But FH doesn't get why it would be nice for my family. He thinks bc I'm not sooo religious than who cares.

FH is insane sometimes but I still love him.

my fiance is also jewish and he is the EXACT same way as your fiance. i don't get it at all.

i'm also looking for an officiant. it's starting to stress me the f out. i've heard good things about reverend deb and keith gugliuzza. i haven't met with either of them yet though so i'm not really of much help.

my problem is that my fiance is now ruling out anyone i suggest based upon their appearance. i don't know what's wrong with him sometimes?! i didn't realize we had to be married by a supermodel.

Oh forget it- FH didn't want to book the saxiphonist for part of our DJ 'bc he looks like this creepy guy George' he knows... Come on now!!!! Megan Fox isn't going to perform our ceremony dude!!!!

I am Jewish and my fiance is Catholic. We got a reformed Rabbi to do our ceremony. He is super nice, not creepy and focuses on both religions. He even makes sure to take out Moses and Jesus so he doesn't insult anyone in either family. He speaks many languages and can make the ceremony nice and fun.
