Okay so I started looking for officiants and I found someone I think would be great but then I found out they are female. I really want a Male to do our ceremony? Does anyone else feel this way? or is it just me?

It didn't matter to FH or myself. Our officiant (Pastor April) is a woman and she's awesome!!

i wouldnt mind having a woman... i'd prob actually feel more comfy but im not sure how fh wuld feel abuot that.... we havent discussed that topic yet

When I mentioned it to my FH he said it doesn't matter as long as they are good at what they do. Then we both went to meet Pastor April and he was sold!

Just wondering if you were, maybe you're so set on having a male officiant because you grew up with male priests doing everything and that's just what you're used to?

I agree with the catholic thought. I am used to male priests and have always pictured when I get married that a male would be doing the ceremony. Its nothing against females. My dad's second marriage he had a female officiant and I just thought it was strange.

I'm meeting with Pastor April next monthand my sister used her for her wedding and she was great!. FH mentioned something about wanting a male officiant but I think when he meets her he will change his mind. If not theres gonna be a fight!

I was raised Catholic.....but I don't want a religious ceremony so I don't know why I'm making such a fuss over having a male!?!?

I don't really care female or male....but go with what you want. There is no right or wrong when it comes to your wedding.
