Officiant: Mike Callahan – is it too early to be worried??

Hi everyone! Can someone here assure me that everything is going to be ok???

I chose Rev. Mike Callahan because of the good reviews I read on this forum. Before I ever sent the deposit, he was actively emailing me back and answering all my questions. After I sent the deposit, he still answered my emails but not as frequent. Just recently I have been asking him to send in the officiant waiver and his identification info which I need to submit to the wedding department but I still haven’t heard from him! He emailed me on April 15 saying that he would be sending the waiver but I still don’t have it. Then I emailed him the next day reminding him that I would definitely need the waiver as soon as possible as well as his ID info (needed to board the boat) And so far I haven’t heard from him. I also left a voicemail maybe 3 days ago and he didn’t call me back….

Do you think he’s just busy or something else?? My wedding department is bugging me about the officiant waiver and the ID info from him, that’s why… I don’t know what to do!! I’m almost ready to just think of the $150 deposit as a loss and go with the cruise wedding officiant (even though I wanted to have a religious ceremony) =(

Hope someone can share their thoughts!

do you not have a phone number for him? try calling him instead of email. if he's busy, its easy to ignore an email rather than if someone is calling you right then and there!

I did call him but he wasn't there so I left him a voicemail (which I think was about 3 or 4 days ago) and he hasn't gotten back to me....

I'm so worried!!

I would try and call again today. Maybe he was away? Try again.

maybe he is on vacation.. its only been a week, I wouldn't start to panic just yet!

Oh great - that's who I went with. Please let me know if you have a problem with him. I haven't tried to contact him since I gave him the deposit. I hope he gets back to you.

what is the actual deadline for you to submit the paperwork?

Well at least you're wedding is in September - mine is this June! And I have to get that info out to the wedding department asap

I just left him a 2nd voicemail today. I hope he calls me back!!

The deadline is the 2nd week of May but I'd rather not wait that long..

Thats waht I was going to say. He probably wanted to squeeze in a last minute vaca before wedding season...

Oh goodness, I was thinking of using him also based on his reviews thus far. Well, keep us posted. Everything will work out I can feel it!!

hmmm, he's my officiant too and was good w/ getting back to me when i had questions. havent really had any recently so i cant say anything about that. i really don't think he would just be ignoring your request, so I am hoping that he is just busy or away or something. i remember one time he was a bit delayed in responding but not without reason. i say bc its very impt, dont feel like your bugging him and keep trying to make contact. Dont freak just yet!! Give it a bit more time. And let us know how this turns out pls!!!

No more worries! Rev. Callahan emailed me today with the info I requested! He also called me at work and apologized for the delay because he was so busy – yay!!! So everything is cool!!! I’ll let you guys know how everything works out on my wedding day! Once again yay!!!
