Im looking for an officiant that is not religious (If that makes any sense). My Fh is a...lets say Atheist. He is asking for no reference of god etc, etc. Anyone have any ideas?

There are plenty on this site under Vendors and then Officiants.
We used Fr. Tom McCormick. He used to be a priest with the RC church but left it a few years ago. He can do your ceremony completely free of religious references, personalized to your needs.

check out Janine Burns...she is awesome. I have lots of info in my review but many other people on these boards have used her as well.

My fh is the same as yours. We are using Rev. Deb. She said it is up to us whether there will be mention of god, godess or other.

i love love LOVE my officiant. she's a sweetheart and she truly makes the ceremony whatever YOU want.
You can use any of the officiants the girls in this thread have mentioned, or ask your hall for the name of a judge that they recommend.

We are also using Rev. Deb. We didn't want a religious ceremony either. She said our ceremony will be more spiritual.

we used her! She was great... we wanted a non-religious ceremony also... she will totally work with you to make it perfectly what you want...

My FH is an atheist also. We're using Rev. Rodriguez 917-822-3036. He is also listed on the Knot. Good Luck!

I've having the same probelm!!!
We don't want any religion in our ceremony. Both of out families are from different backgrounds and we aren't religious.
I don't want a Reverand or any religious officiant. I was hoping for a justice of the peace or something.
Anyone ever go this route?

I understand. I figured as long as they understood that it would be a non religious ceremony and respect our decision then it would be okay. Try marriageNYC . I think he is listed in NYCWeddings.

Rev. Deb said instead of focusing on the religious aspect of marriage, she would focus on who FH and I are as individuals, as a couple, and our love for each other. We are also going to do non-religious readings. She gave us a whole packet of ones to choose from. There is also the option of doing a unity candle, hand ceremony, or a sand ceremony.

We are also having a non-religous ceremony and are using Rev. Hilda Geico. She is not mentioning 'God' at all. She's very sweet , hip, and accomodating. http://www.celestialweddings.net/

Oh my god - you have to meet with Pastor April from Church of Ancient Ways (Don't let the 'church' part in the title throw you off )
We were adamant that we didn't want the word 'god' or any reference to organized religion at all in our cermony and she was so great about it - I freakin' love her! She can write with you the most beautiful and loving personalized ceremony without any religious references.
