Officiant question

Hi! I’m brand new here, so let me know if I’m committing any major faux pauxs! I have tons of questions for all you great people, but my first is about officiants. My FH is Swedish so he’s technically a Lutheran but his family absolutely raised him without religion, so he’s kinda a default atheist. I, on the other hand, was raised Catholic but am now a lapse Catholic at best and am mostly agnostic. My family is very big with the Catholicism (Irish Catholics all of them) so I would like a ceremony that has some aspects of the religion, but nothing that would offend the FH. Would this even be considered an interfaith ceremony, or non-denominational?

Thanks for all the help!

Re: Officiant question

i would recommend checking out father joseph devincenzo. we had a 'spiritual' ceremony that was not very religious. he can do a civil ceremony (no God mention or religion), spiritual, religious, interfaith, etc. he will personalize the ceremoy for your beliefs (or lack of). for us i lean more toward agnostic since my family was catholic but never taught me anything about religion. his family is methodist but after his confirmation as a teen he never went to church and doesnt consider himself religious. i would have had a totally religion-free ceremony, but his mom really wanted some spirituality in there, so we went with the 'spiritual' ceremony. his website is http://personalized-weddings.com/ . good luck.
