Officiant Questions?

Officiant Questions?

I am having my ceremony at CLM, and have a few questions about officiants. Hope you can help!

1) How much should an officiant cost? My ceremony is 30 minutes.

2.) Do this cost include a gratuity or should I also give him/her gratuity? If so, how much?

3.) Do I invite him/ her to the rehearsal dinner? And the reception?

4.) Do I purchase him/her a boutineere (spell?)

Thanks in advance!

Re: Officiant Questions?

All the officiants that i priced were from $350 to $600, it didn't matter how long the ceremony was going to be and that didn't include if you were going to have them there for RH.

You should find out if the CLM has a recommended officiant and see if there is some kind of discount that you get for using that person. On a whim, I contacted the recommended officiant for CB and found out that its included in the price that i am paying for the ceremony at CB-something my BM didn't tell me.

I wouldn't invite them to the rehearsal dinner because usually you have to pay them extra for that and there isn't a whole lot of info that you need to go over. Besides, when you get married in the church you meet with them in the church and they tell you where to be and stuff but if you are getting married at the RH then you don't really need all of that. I am pretty sure that they give you the plans written out and you can go over that with your bridal party yourself for free

I've seen the cost to be between 350 and 500. my ceremony is 30mins as well.

This doesn't include gratuity, a few people said to tip about $50 or so

I wouldn't invite him/her to the reception unless they are from a church that you go to reguarly and therfore know him/her on a more personal level

I've never heard of having to purchase the officiant a butineer, but ask thoes that you interview. They will tell you if it is required.

I took the house officiant on this one and they added his cost into my RH price since the ceremony is there. I would recommend, if you are getting married at a RH to definitely look into their house officiants. In our case he was lower priced, has many good reviews from those on this site, and has a 'backup' who is equally as good. If you want his info to look into him, i can pass it along. FM me.
