Officiant questions....

Officiant questions....

I was quoted by a FILs suggested Rabbi at $1150 to have our wedding on site at JT. I don't know much about fees but that seem crazy!!!

Unless FIL are paying for this guy, I am moving on to the next choice...

Can anyone recommend a Rabbi in LI for a low or lowER fee?

Has anyone use JT recommened Rabbi?

I am so lost and I about to get a BUM off the street put a F*king kippah on him and call it a day!!!

Re: Officiant questions....

i interviewed a TON of rabbi's and most were charging between $500 and $900 ... one guy i liked was Rabbi Steven Blane (i don't know how good he actually is though since we didn't end up using him ... DH's father wanted us to use his friend, who we ended up hating)

Anyway - we met with that guy and he seemed really nice

HTH! good luck

Re: Officiant questions....

That is a ridiculously high quote in my opinion.
I have both Jewish and Catholic blood in me and my fiance is not religious at all so we are getting married by a judge and it under 350 for an on cite ceremony.

And I thought that was a lot!

Good luck I hope you find something more reasonable

Re: Officiant questions....

We're using Rabbi Swerdlow & Father Malone (interfaith ceremony). They work together at the Northport VA, I'm not sure if they would work separately? Maybe?

Anyway, they are $500 each, so $1000 for both people. Rabbi Swerdlow can also supply you with a ketubah at no extra charge.
