So the Deacon at FHs parish completely ticked us off last night. I had to work late and was dealing with work stuff when I got home so FH did me a favor and called the Deacon to find out about Confirmation classes for us. The Deacon gave him such an attitude and then wouldn't talk to him. He wanted me to call him back. So needless to say, I don't want to deal with them. I'm thinking of going the non-religious route now. Any recommendations for an officiant to use?

Hi, I am using Dr. Harmon. He is part of the LI Ethical Humanist Society (non religious). Very sweet man. And his fee is very low...FM me for details.

Father Grainson was awesome. He was a catholic priest that left to get married, but he is ordained for life and still has the right (by the state, not the church) to perform ceremonies. He is very nice. It was about $550, but it was well worth he. He really was great. He does a traditional catholic ceremony and can add/delete anything that you want.

I would call the pastor of the parish. My brother had a problem with a deacon / priest re: his wedding once. One call to the pastor and everything was back on track.
Good luck. Sorry this happened to you!
