The Officiant is coming to our house tonight to discuss the ceremony. I said to FH this morning that I was going to stop on the way home to pick up some Vegtables to cut up and make a dip for tonight. FH said that I shouldn't go to all this trouble...offering something to drink is more than enough.
I think that since the man is coming to our house for our convience...I should at the very least offer him a snack
FH thinks that since we are paying him to perform the ceremony its not necessary...drinks are sufficient.
Please tell me what you think?

I always like to offer a snack. If you have crackers and cheese that would be great too.

I agree with you, definitely offer him a snack (he might not even have anything, but at least you offered). He is coming to your house & saving you a trip.

I would certainly offer him a snack but I could see where cutting up veggies and making dip is work. Cheese and crackers are great, maybe just a bowl of Chex Mix or trail mix. Keep it simple!

My FH does that too. Whether its buying a gift, or if we are having friends over and I want to make appetizers, he is a minimalist. Me, I like to go all out. I would offer him a snack, either cheese and crackers, or veggies and dip is nice.

I had a few vendors come to my house and we just offered them a drink since it was after dinner hours they have already eaten

offering a snack - especially when he is comming to your home is appropriate
he isnt being paid to come talk to you only to be there for the ceremony - so a bit of courtesy for taking time out of his day to come talk to you is definately a good idea
