Re: officiants?

We used Rev. Alison Caiola and loved her. We did a completely non-denominational ceremony and pretty much wrote the whole thing with her. FM me if you need more info

Ask your catering hall. I know my banquet manager is an ordained minister.

Re: officiants?

I am a really good person to answer this question. I had a really hard time finding a officiant for our wedding. I am not married yet, but even finding one to talk to about our wedding seemed like a big under taking. I called SO MANY PEOPLE. Some of the officiants didn't call me back, some called me back and then disappeared after speaking to them a few times. I called one person 3 times to find out were to send the deposit. Something in my head FINALLY clicked and said, hello, why am I calling this person over and over again to give them my deposit.
I finally went with Rev. April and I LOVE HER! From the first time I talked to her on the phone I knew she was the one. She is so sweet and she really listens. My favorite thing about her is that when I call her she answers and if she doesn't answer right away, she calls back that same day. Give her a call!

One of the officiants I contacted told me he doesn't meet the bride and groom beforehand and everything is handled over the phone. I quickly crossed him off the list. I want to meet the person who is marrying us!

I've heard great things about Pastor April on this board, and everyone loves her!! But if your FH doesn't want a female officiant, for whatever reason, I'd try to find a man. There are plenty and you don't want him to feel cut out of that very important decision. I'd veto the FH on flowers, colors, even tuxedoes! etc., but not on the person who actually performs his wedding. I know my FH is very traditional, and wouldn't go for it either, and I'd have to respect that even if I didn't agree with him, because he needs to really be in that moment with you and the officiant.
