Officiants

Officiants

Other than Captain Arnold, is anyone aware of a nautical type of officiant? Captain Arnold was just way out of our price range. If not, can you recommend anyone? FH wants the officiant to be male......have no idea what it matters but it does to him. We are not religious and we'd really like the ceremony to center around love and family.

Any suggestions?

Oh, and what price ranges have you received and what type of deposit is requested. Thanks!

FH wants someone dressed in military garb. Like a captain of a boat, Naval Chaplain. Along those lines. We're getting married on the water and FH was in the Navy so we thought it would be a nice touch. Not having much luck with this search.

The only thing I could suggest, is maybe a friend can become an officiant. A close family friend who was remarrying had her son become an officiant and he did their ceremony. It was so sweet b/c what he said truly came from the heart.

This is true. My uncle is still in the Navy and I know he has his dress uniform. That could be an option. He probably wouldn't go for it though cause he takes pure joy out of making my life miserable. He's only 11 years older than me and looks at me as more of a sister than a niece. Boys can be so annoying.

Took your advice, approached FH with it and he thought it was a great idea. We asked my youngest brother, but he wants to think about it. Think me saying we'd get him a captain's uniform freaked him out.....that and the speaking in front of 120 people. We'll see what happens. Thanks for the great advice!
