I hope I am not sending this post more than once. I wrote it up and can't find where I posted it he he.
Anyway, I am newly engaged and have been doing some research on officiants. We are both Catholic but would really like to express our creativity and personality in our ceremony. Unfortuantly, the Catholic church has a lot of restrictions. I know there are a lot of scams out there! We found a priest, Father Allmen. He says, he can conduct Catholic weddings outside. Has anyone heard of him or has used him before?

If you want the church to recognize the marriage, it has to be in a church. A catholic priest cannot marry you outside the church.

actually i heard to the contrary. i heard that the new pope says that the church will recognize a marriage that occurs outside a catholic church. the hard part is finding a priest.

A priest cannot marry you outside of the church. If you want it to be recognized and done by a priest/deacon, it must be in a church. If you are fine with getting married in a RH or beach, you can get an officiant (ordained minister or something like that) There are a bunch of officiants listed on the vendors page, try looking at them...

I noticed a lot of people were using some lady named April. She sent me a message saying that Father Allmen was no good. She said that he over books and frequently sends other people in his place. That makes me very nervous!

hmm... I should check. I don't know. I was looking on here and a lot of people have used him. I don't know if its just me but a lot of these officiants look creepy. One website said the guy gives you a free massage with your ceremony! Thats gross.

I'm hoping that he's giving like a gift certicicate for a massage from the spa and not doing it himself. that would be bizarre...
