are they invited to the reception? My FSIL is getting married at her hall, and she doesn't know her officiant. She's unsure whether it's proper to invite him to their reception...thoughts?

Good question. We seriously can't afford to have our guest list keep growing (it's already at 207!) so I hope not.
Our Rabbi told us that if we wanted to have him stay to start of by blessing the cutting of the challah, it would be an additional charge, so I'm not sure how it works for the time after...

We are being married by a professional officant. We are exchanging cash for the service, thus making the officant hired help. We are not inviting hired help.
