I can understand the resentment. It is happening right now to my MOH who is in a wedding prior to mine. Honestly, we are not sure if the bride (which I met before) is totally brained washed and turning into a bridezilla or if the MOH is the responsible one.

In the end, I think it's fair to 'asked' someone to be part of your BP and make sure to tell them that they need to understand what your expectations are and theirs.

I told my MOH to let me know at any point if it was too much for her. I told her it was more important for me to have her in my wedding and help me with DYI, being there to help me pick my dress, etc... (my mom is an OOT and cannot help me with the wedding) and that if money was an issue to let me know. I waited 2 weeks after I originally asked her and talked to her to make sure she was OK with it and that if she needed to back out it would be OK. She appreciated, promise me to let me know if $ or time was too much.

I think that's TOTALLY cool and responsible of you - I guess I just figure most of us are pretty consious of the $$ our BP's are spending and all, I guess I just wonder the BRIDE'S side of it....

It is sad that it comes down to venting on a forum and you know the bride is going to see your post!

How do yo remain in the BP after that? Just do like nothing has been said? Knowing that both side will 'resent' the BM for being in the wedding pictures and the BM for not wanting to be there.

I don't know where you go from there. Wouldn't it best to just drop off the wedding at this point since the bride knows how the BM feels now?

Well, do you think the bride is really that bad?? I mean, maybe she was asking for parts of this but since the BM who originally posted made her sound so bad she's too embarrassed to come forward now?? I wonder, parts of what the original poster sound SO RIDICULOUS like the 'bad breath' part, other parts are 'true enough' like splitting up couples, I had it happent to me.... Or the BM hair as a gift, I would personally think that WAS a gift... hmmmmmm....

Interesting question - is the bride in question really that bad? Probably not, but as you said there are some parts that make the poster sound believable. I do have to say though, if you tell your girls they must have their hair and makeup professionally done and don't give them the choice to do it themselves, then paying for it IMHO, is not a gift. On the other hand, if you ask if they want to have it professionally done and they say yes, paying for it they agreed to have it done is a gift.
