Oh Boy Do I Have An Interesting Story For You!! (kind of long but what a vent)

I went to my grandmothers the other day to celebrate my moms b-day, my grandmother had gifts from my uncle for my 2 daughters so they open them and I check the bottom of the bag and there is a card for me and fh so I go to open it and it was already opened so I look at the card and it was a money card but no money strange right well my mom calls my uncle and said he put $100 in there for me and there was a card with $100 for my cousin and cards with $30 each for my brother and sister and my uncle proceeded to tell my mother that he said to my grandmother that if no one comes by the spring not to throw the cards out b/c there is money in them and that she can have it if we dont show up!! He said SPRING!!
He brought the gifts over last week and she had the effin nerve to open all our cards and take all our money $260 and says to me and my mother she doesnt know what happened and she feels bad the woman is effin crazy!!

Sorry so long but I am livid right now I have a wedding to pay for and that would have helped and my cousins mother died 2 yrs ago and she is a single mother who could have used it

ETA: My uncle said he is going to replace it but I dont want him to its not the point Im her grandaughter you dont do that and she has plenty of money and my uncle has 2 kids of his own he doesnt need to be doing this

thats awful and mean and cheap that someone would take your gift INTENTIONALLY ...i cant believe that...!!

WOW!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe she would do that!!! I am shocked!!! Sorry you are dealing with this and I'm sorry that your uncle is out the money too! That was nice of him to replace it but geez!!!

He is scared b/c she has had 2 strokes in the past so everyone tries to keep her happy

Thats not very nice....Maybe she isn't thinking clearly...I am really sorry and i would feel the same way if I was in your situation.

she knew what she was doing and then she tells my mother after we noticed to leave it alone
I guess she didnt want us calling my uncle!

oy....this is one of those BIZZARRE-0 situations..Im not sure if i'm understanding everything correctly....but it seems as if your uncle is the nice guy in the whole thing just wants to make everyone happy, but not Donald TrumP? Tell him NO.....explain honestly what is going on.....if for some off chance he does it anyway then buy him something special that you know he can use or really wants or some luxury item he'd never buy himself

Why doesn't your uncle confront her...just cause she's had strokes is no excuse for her stealing! Since she claims she doesn't know what happened I would say, 'well grandma we better call the police and report this then because you were apparently robbed then and we need to file a report!' see what she says to that! Good luck with this and sorry it happened...
