Oh boy more Rehearsal Dinner Drama--> does it end???

Ok heres the situation:

My wedding is on a friday. We were going to do the dinner as an al fresco bbq at my parents house the night before (thursday).

We were thinking of moving it to Wedneday night b/c Thursday is a long day otherwise (b/w prepping, last min stuff and running around). Now the different sides:

Mom- Mom wants to stratch the bbq at the house and do it at a restaurant for these reasons:
1) she doesn't want the headache of cleaning up and running around
2) she said that it comes out the same in the long run
3) she doesn't want all these people in the house if it rains
Her reasoning for why we CAN'T Move the date:
4) we can't move it to wednesday b/c 1. she doesn;t want to feed more people Thursday (OOT)
2. she said it inconvinences her b/c she doesn't want to rush around Wednesday. 3. Its not what she wants. OH MY GOD ITS NOT HER WEDDING!!!

Ok our story:
1) We don't care at this point where the RD is. We are over it. Restaurant or Backyard, mcdonalds chuckie cheese WHATEVER
2) We went over the schedule for thursday and honestly, I will end up EXHAUSTED on my wedding day if I don't make Thursday relaxing.
3) I am sick of her and her me me me story
4) They can do little foods for the OOT's like pizza or something they are not the kind of people who care what they eat.
5) Isn't this FH's and my wedding???

So what do I do? I mean, FH's parents and my parents are paying, but why the hell stress me out further? Whats your opinion?

See! I knew the closer we get the more drama erupts. Easter Sunday is gonna be interesting!!!

Honestly, I'd suggest moving it to Wed and ordering pizza on Thursday for the OOT'ers. That way your mom doesn't have to clean up either way.

My wedding is on a Friday night and there was NO way I could do the rd the night before. I know I'd be wrecked for the wedding on Friday! If that's important to you, see if you can compromise. Tell her you'll do it at a restaurant (b/c I can't blame her for not wanting to deal with the headache!) but it has to be on Wednesday night.

Thats what I said to her and she threw a hissy fit!!! She was like 'well you NEED to do it Thursday your inconvinencing me! You have no consideration blah blah blah'

I think I need FH to handle this one. I can't anymore. This is something I don't want to deal with, I don't care anymore, and honestly, its becoming very unenjoyable now.

I think you should have the RD on the Wednesday night at a restaurant.

I made that compromise to her and she is being stubborn. I'm gonna make my parents, FH's parents and FH vote. B/c this is bs now.

i mean, people are coming from OOT for your wedding.....is it a big deal to your mom to spend like $40 on pizza to feed them in return for traveling for your wedding???

I would probably have it at a small restaurant by the church/house to not have to hear anything.......if she is so concerned with feeding them Thursday night, im sure you and FH can take care of it...

don'tlet her get you upset or pissy 2 days before your wedding!

She knows how to push the buttons.

FH is goin to call my dad. Those 2 work wonders together. Hopefully they can figure it out. I mean i just hate having to deal with this. She literally hit me with this at 8 this morning!!! Now I'm dwelling!!!

I mean if we do it wednesday, I know personally, I can gather my thoughts and crap on thrusday. You know, I don't think she understands that this is the most important day of my life.

If everyone else agrees with you I think this needs to be one of those times when you say, 'Mom.. your right.. it is going to be a big mess to have the RD here and cook for OOT'ers on Thursday. But we've decided to have it Wed. at a restaurant. I'll take care of ordering the pizza on Thursday' and leave it at that. If she doesn't understand.... she doesn't understand.

why does she have to feed MORE people on thursday? that's silly to me... you shouldn't be worrying about what ppl from out of town are going to be eating for dinner on thursday that's crazy!

I really appreciate this feedback girls b/c its really adding more and more to the reasoning behind doing the dinner on a wednesday night rather than Thursday.
I think FH and I totally going to just do what we want and do it Wednesday. She'll just have to deal. I'll be more than happy to supply 'dinner' on thursday for the OOT. She needs to lay off.

our rd is on friday from 5-7.
we were going to have it at fmil or our house but we didnt think it would be fair to fml or me to clean a bunch of crap the day before the wedding

Good luck. I like the wed out idea and maybe you can just suggest some places to eat to your OOTs instead of supplying them...???

Def wednesday night. you will totally exhausted if you try to do it on Thursday!

As for the paying for OOTers, it will probably work out cheaper, b/c there will be less ppl at the RD if the OOTers are coming in on Thurs and not wednesday.
