I've heard the protocol- that you don't have to tip those that own their own business. But in my case, I have a DJ that runs his own business, and he's bringing 2 assistants with him (why, I have no idea). Should I tip those guys? Should I even tip my DJ since it's his business?
And with my photo/video, I have two photographers and one videographer. Would it be bad if I tipped them each $50? or should they each get $100?
Church singer and organist- should I tip them? How about the Deacon? (oops I never invited him to my wedding!)
And finally, limo- the 20% gratuity was included in the price. I still feel kinda weird not tipping the guy- I guess that's at my discretion then?
TIA!

I don't know about limo drivers - I have the same problem. A 20% tip is included in the price but I've heard I have to tip on top of that. Does that make me cheap if I think that's a little crazy???
PLUS - I thought tipping the photog. was at your discretion and not always expected. Well when I called ADA Peggy (I can't stand her) REMINDED me to tip them. That really rubbed me the wrong way. Do you think I'm wrong? I don't want to be told by a company to tip its employees

i don't plan on tipping any extras and i don't car if that makes me or anybody calls me cheap....since when does it become the norm to tip someone $200 for doing their job..isn't it enough that since it's a wedding i pay double for everything off the back, then i have to double tips...oh please....these vendors get a kick of how much money they can windle out of us for the sake of ettiquette, where the heck is theirs....yes i do believe in tipping but not at that cost at all...JMO

Re: Oh boy...here come the annoying tip questions
I only tipped the limo driver an extra $25 since the tip was included in our contract. The DJ and assistants you can probably get away with giving all of them $25-$50 since it's the owner. The photographer and videographer, I would suggest giving $100 each to. They're the only ones who still have a service to provide you with after the wedding is over with and it's probably best that they walk away with a good feeling about you.

Oh honey I agree. I'm searching for limos and the packages for weddings is doubled. If they do a great job then yes I will probably tip a little more. I've had experiences though that if the tips are included already they really don't expect much more. This was for a car service.
