Pre-cana is two sessions, each about 4 hours, and the fee is $75.00
So it really does depend on your church more than anything..
Before we decided on this church, we looked at another one closer to his parents house, which is a much richer parish, and their pre-cana was 1 weekend, two days 6 hours each day, $300.
So not fair!

300 Are you sure it is JUST for pre cana and not for the church services too?
I started Pre Cana on wed and it was 60!

Nope just for pre-cana, originally that's what I thought, so I called again, and was told no, the ceremony was another $400, plus if I wanted to use their organist ($150) and soloist ($100)

you have to pay for pre-cana? no one tells me anything. we scheduled a date/time for our first meeting, but wasn't aware that we have to pay.

Tell me about it. I don't get why a richer parish can charge more We are paying $150 for pre-cana and $650 for the church, $150 for the organist and $100 for a singer

i was never told about having topay for pre-cana and when i made the appointment she never said anything to me! i am wondering if it is covered in the $700 i have to pay to the church?!

My pre-cana is $250 and my church fee is $500!!! OMG I thought they were all the same price - I can't believe it's FREE at some parishes!!!!!

It really depends, I think, on the church. We met with our priest last night and he gave us a program book on the diffrent types of pre cana you can register for. They have weekend retreats, which cost 300 per couple. There is Saturday pre-cana which is 150 per couple. They also have a three week session where you go one night a week.. that too is 150 a couple.
Some of you are paying much cheaper than the prices I was quoted. So, I guess each church is different.
Oh and we have to pay our church 500 just to get married there. That doesn't include the organist!! I had NO idea that the church fee's can be so expenisive.
ETS: The theme here is EVERYONE will try to make a buck if they can.. even the church off our weddings!!
