I think I've been in a slump with this wedding planning lately. Like, I am addicted to signing on and helping everyone but its like, I have all my main things done, have pretty much made decisions on things and am kind of like....well....ho-hum. Its weird really. Its like I go through these phases of total excitement about it and then this crashing reality of 'really, its just one day.' Well I get a call from my bridal shop that tells me that my bridal veil can't be altered like I want it to so I was trying different veils on and I just..I don't know I'm just not 'feeling it.' When my friend got married she just kept beaming saying that she felt like a complete princess, and I just don't. I feel frumpy and well...I don't know, I just feel like okay, its just me in a pretty dress. Its weird really, to go from so much excitement with the planning to...I have 10 months. Anyone else going through mood swings about wedding planning?

Re: Oh ladies......
Yes, I get on planning kicks where I do nothing but especially since I'm a high school teacher that teaches college level courses and is teaching one more than the normal load this semester I usually work at least a 60 hour week. Between that and taking care of my Dad wedding planning must be done in spurts on my vacations.
This vacation:
printed out direction/ accomodation cards picked up makeup bought gifts and wrapping for readers picked up my dress today finished cry packs
Still have to: design and order wedding ring make wedding cake card holder design programs finish invites and get stamps
There's more but I'm so stressed I'd have to consult my list.

Your not alone. I feel like that all the time!!! Just find something that always inspires you. My inspiration is going to the review board and rereading my favorite weddings.

Re: Oh ladies......
Yes! I only really got excited this past week when I booked the flowers. I felt like the florist really made it a point to 'get' what I was saying and to be excited over my ideas. I get excited, then overwhelmed and so on. I just found out that Westbury Gardens is all booked up for our wedding day so that got me so aggravated and I really need to pick out my invites and do so many other things. I felt like people around me would be a little more excited or into everything, as I would be for them. I also try not to look at our spreadsheet of costs....I get really depressed when I look at that. I'm sure it's normal to feel up and down about the wedding.

I thought I was the only one feeling this way...Its so true that I go from feeling great to feeling blah...I still have things to book...Its such a happy time but also stressful...That is why we have each other here and its an outlet for all of us brides to come and vent...I don't know what I would do without this website!!

Re: Oh ladies......
I have gone through a rollercoaster or moods! Just ask FH
I have been engaged for 2 years, so needless to say it has been 2 years of moods. My wedding is now only 3 months away, and I really don't feel it! I am so used to it being 'far away' that it doesn't really seem real. I have gone through planning like crazy a year a go, to doing nothing at all, to being depressed, to realizing in one day it'll go bye and I wouldn't even remember half of the wedding!
I think its a normal process. We all go through this, especially with long engagements.

You go through lulls when there is nothing to do even if you wanted to. I went through that around month 10 too. Once a lot more needs to get done, I'm sure you'll be more excited.

I think this is totally normal! with 10 months to go if you were beamng and jumping around all the time your face would hurt and you would be exhausted by the wedding day.

Re: Oh ladies......
You hit the nail on the head...I have felt this way for a while..I go for two days where I am on liweddings, getting ideas...excited to do it..then BAM i have no energy or real desire to do it. I get frustrated, emotionally drained and just kind of 'not caring' about everything that so many others seem to care about. Not saying its a bad thing necessarily..I just wish i had more of a drive to get things done :( It can be very overwhelming and there are times I wonder 'Why didn't we just pull this all together, have a short engagement and not stress about little details'. For one day, its certainly a lot of work and money!!! But i know it'll be worth it..and i have many ways of destressing!!
Good luck..you are not alone!!!

Re: Oh ladies......
I totally agree! It's funny too, when my FH finnaly wants to talk about the wediing plans I'm usually not at all in the mood. Or when I'm stressed over work or something else everyone then wants to discuss wedding plans... But I have great days where I get so much accomplished. I think everyone goes through this, I hope, lol.
