I've always loved the toasting flutes with the swarovski crystals in the stems.
So, I was just thinking about where I'm going to register and I thought 'I should register at Macy's because they carry swarovski.'
I looked at macys.com to see if they carry the flutes....they do, for $335!!!!
That's crazy $$$$ for toasting flutes right?
Are there any other companies that make flutes with the same look, without the huge price tag?

It is a bit nuts.. I wish I would habe knownthis sooner. i just retunrned mine. My motherin law had gotten them for us for 250 and we actaully just retuned them becasue my mother...not knowing about the original flutes.. had some Waterford toasting flutes made up for us.. since she will not be at the wedding I will be using her to honor her.... If i woul dhave know i would have sold them to u instead of returning them. They are very expensive though

Re: Oh Man....
yeah i was dying for those flutes.....and ultimately realized that it's too expensive.
what pissses me off is that Swavorski figured out that brides are using them for their toasting flutes---and those sonsofbitches jacked up the price!
when i first looked at them more than a year ago---they were UNDER $300.....and then raised the price up as the popularity went up!

Lenox makes a toasting flute set called Jubilee they are a knock-off of the swavorski---not as sparkly, but a popular replacement, i think they are $70 but most of the time macy's has them during the holidays for 50% off @ $35

They're perfect...you're right that they aren't that sparkly....
Maybe I should register for the expensive one's in case anyone wants to splurge...if I don't get them I can buy the other one's myself....is that wrong? lol

nah, nothing wrong with it. drop many many hints that you would LOVE those.
for me--we registered for them, and then i realized if ppl spent $335 on them for me, that it was $335 that would've been spent on something else. FH and i don't live together and have next to nothing when it comes to furnishing an apt. or house. so i ultimately took them off the registry. but that was just my take on it.
i say throw them BOTH on the registry and go ahead and buy the Jubilee ones for now. (they fly off the shelves during the holidays and then wind up on back order ater new year's!) then if you get the ones you want.....return the jubilee!

I kinda like the cheaper ones better! Then you can still get other things and still have the flutes!

Re: Oh Man....
I think if you go to one of those little china stores you can get them like 20% off. You know the ones that sell lenox pieces, precious moments, etc. I know it's not much, but if you have your heart set on them it helps! China Connection in Hempstead sells Swarovski. Maybe you can get them there!

Not sure if it makes a difference but this site is offering them for $285.
