oh man... i didn't think it would happen to me...

i was just emailing my stepmom about some wedding stuff and said 'so have you been looking at any dresses yet?' (she lives in md with my dad so i haven't been shopping with her yet) and she said 'are you kidding? this is a very special time i need to look marvelous' and then i said 'do you have any colors in mind' and she responds.... 'maybe champagne'

WTFFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!!! my dress is off white ... don't you think champagne will be a little too close to my dress???? you don't wear white, ivory, champagne, eggshell, or any other variation of white to a wedding!!!!!!!!!

champagne might not be too bad. I wore champagne as my sister's MOH and her dress was Ivory. it didn't look the same....hopefully its a dark shade of champagne

I don't want to be mean and burst your bubble or hurt your feelings or anything like that, but I would really like it if you would wear a different color. My dress is off white and I think champagne is a little too similar to a wedding dress color. Would that be ok with you?

Are you guys still coming up to visit sometime around the holidays? Maybe we could send the boys to watch football or something and we can go dress shopping??

I think your email was nice. i highly recomend dress shopping with her. That way you can control the shade (maybe choose a dark shade to compromise)

ITA! Although when my mom got remarried 2 years ago my SIL ordered a champagne dress and it was really light. My mom told her that she had to order a different color!
