Dh is a teacher and got a notice today that went to all the parents that those Madonna braclets we all wore as kids in the 1980's are now making a comeback as sexbracelets. It is called 'Snapping'. If a girl is wearing it a guy can try to snap it off of her wrist, and in return it is like sexual coupon- each color stands for something else. Black- The full monty, one of the others is oral sex, etc. What is happening to these kids?! I was in shock. another thing I heard about was 'lipstick' parties. That is where these teenagers go to party's and have oral sex. The kids think it is okay becuase it is not intercourse. I remember going to party's and parents were home to supervise. the big thing at 13 was playing spin the bottle etc, and someone was on the lookout for a parents coming into the room. Oh man ! Has anyone else heard of this?

I teach at a high school level and it really doesn't suprise me! Parents now a days are too busy with work to really give the time to care!

oh yeah.. this has been a problem in my school this year.. and it's a middle school (6th - 8th).. the school doesn't let the kids wear them anymore.. it's so shocking!

Today I was in the bagel place and this teenage girl was standing in front of me. She was wearing jogging pants rolled down below her hips and a tank top that came above her belly button. The best part of it was acoss her *** was written HIT IT! Who lets their kids dress like this???

That's so disturbing.
I am also disturbed at the way kids dress (and some adults) but then I wonder f I'm too uptight.
Ever notice how even on tv kids don't look like kids anymore? A tomboy like Kristy McNichol or a goofy kid like Mackenzie from One Day at a Time or a pretty but not 'made up' kid like Danielle Brisbois from All in the Family - I don't see kids like that portrayed on tv today.

A few years ago I was finding notes from my students talking about BJ parties that they were having. My students are 12.

You teahcers know better than i do, but I was reading up on it, and alot of people belivee it's all media hype.
I just think...iewww...how gross. I just think the bracelets are cute. Didn't we all used to wear them? I can't imagine what's possessing these kids to think there's some kind of quid pro quo attached to a bracelet.

Look at the teen idols for girls, no more Pat Benatar or Joan Jett, the Go Go's, Blondie - they all had their clothes on. That was my generation.
Now it's Britney, Christina - when I was young we would have laughed at those kind of girls, now it's cool to look like a whore

its so true! I see little kids trying to be all sexy- its so disturbing. It hit me when I went to look at a videographer and he showed be a bat mitzvha- the girl was wearing a dress that I would wear (a few pounds ago), a low cut, form fitting gown. My bat mitzvah I wore a loose dress with puffy sleeves I wasn't going for sexy. IT was my bat mitzvah!!
