I am a big time lurker---at first over on the BHB board for months b4 I got married and have been lurking around here since sometime last month when DH and I decided to TTC....... Well, I just tested a few minutes ago and am pregnant! I'm still in a bit of shock and now a bit scared because I don't know what to do--I'm the first to get preggo among my friends. I don't want to tell anyone 'cause it's too early IMO and well I just am feeling a little unprepared-- even though we have been trying-- does that make any sense?
Thanks for listening!
P.S. Any recommendations for an OBGYN in Nassau County? I want to switch. I'm a NYC Public school teacher so they have to accept GHI. TIA!!!

Re: Oh my GOSH!!!
Congrats!!! You need to begin taking your prenatal vitamins. I took the GNC prenatals...your OB can also give you an Rx for them. I would read A Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy and NOT read what to expect when you are expecting....also A Thinking Women's Guide to Birth is a great book!
I told my friends and family the week after I tested +. I figured if GOD FORBID did happen I would want/need their support anyway.

Thank you for the suggestions!! I have been taking folic acid and the prenatals for a quite a few months now, but it is something I will bring up when I see my doctor.
BTW--Ur daughter is a beauty!

Congrats!!!! I highly recommend Dr. Jessica Jacob. She is in New Hyde Park. A couple of the girls on this site also use her and they all love her as well. Not sure what insurance she takes.

Congrats!!! Have a happy and healthy 9 months. Don't worry about feeling unprepared/overwhelmed I think we have all felt that way when the BFP showed up. Even though you are trying you are still shocked when it happens. But once you get over the initial shock, it is soooo exciting!

Congratulations!!! That is such great news.
I would also recommend Dr. Dlena or Dr Johnson in Mineola. They are part of the Women's Helath Pavilion practice and I love them!!!
