Oh my Gosh!! A favor STEAL!
My sister suggested that since FH is big on beer, and we're both such sports fanatics, that we should give out beer mugs for favors. We were thinking of going with discountmugs.com and getting them screen printed and all that. Well, the ones I could afford were so small (can't remember- want to say 11 oz or something). She also had the idea to fill the mugs with peanuts and cracker jack (our baseball theme) but I decided against it since the mugs I figured I were ordering were so small. So I changed that idea to attaching bags of peanuts & cracker jack to the placecards, which would be made to look like baseball tickets.
My sister (co-MOH) came up with the idea of going to the dollar store and seeing what they have...well she just emailed me - 25 oz mugs- huge and heavy ones! A dollar each!!! All of a sudden I thought, wow, all of my guests could get one! haha. But FH figured it's too huge and no one will really drink out of it anyway, so let's get one per couple. Good thinkin'!! So now I think I'm back to filling the mugs with peanuts & cracker jack, since they're sooo roomy! I just miss the idea of attaching the bags to the placecards (tickets).
So anyway, MOH kept searching for places that would do laser engraving or screen printing. Most places want you to order their own mugs to screen print, but she did find one that would do it (I think it's was under a dollar per mug). Laser engraving was insane- like $3-4 a mug.
YAHOO I'm so excited!! My sister is also a graphic designer, so she plans on helping with alot of the design aspects...but geez, after all the research she did with shopping and calling places for the favors, I should pay her as my wedding planner! ha ha ha!
