So, I swore when I got engaged that I wasn't going to be one of those girls who only talked about the wedding. And for the first 8 months, I was really good about it.
But since we booked the RH in May, I've totally become the girl who won't shut up about all the things I want to do. I annoy my FH every night with minute questions about inane details he couldn't care less about. I am asking people about seating charts and what they did for their weddings when we haven't even finalized the guest list.
Every time I see a flower I comment out loud 'that would look pretty in my boquet/centerpiece'.
I can't seem to shut up about it, and I hate that. There are so many things going on right now and I shouldn't be so consumed by this.
So, any advice on how to zip my lips and talk and think about something else? I feel like I am either annoying or boring people to death with all my chatter about dresses, flowers, music, centerpieces, colors, dresses, limos, etc.....

Thanks, I know. But I can see the look on ppl's faces like 'is she really talking about this again.'
I think because it's all so new. I'll probably be sick of talking about it in a month when I figure everything out. But I just hate being that excited girly-girl. It's really out of character for me to monopolize conversations, especially to talk about me, FH, and our wedding.

I've become that girl too amongst family and friends, so you're not alone. It's crazy... I might as well start every conversation off with, 'Let's talk about something interesting... let's talk about me' And I'm not even that type of person!

When there is something more interesting to talk about, I do. It just so happens that that isn't very often!!! Weather patterns? Gas prices? I mean, everyone's looking forward to the big day, so it comes up all the time!!
Come November, when we have the election, we'll all get 'off topic' for a while . . . then it's back to the fun stuff!!!
I never bring it up, but everyone else does, so I assume they like to talk about it!

I'm that girl too...it's really hard NOT to talk about it. And i do the saaaaaame thing with flowers haha I think it's a good thing tho b/c it gets our minds flowing with ideas and in the end, makes it easier on us. I'd rather have too many idea than none at all because then at least you can see what the ideas look like. My friends are even like 'Ash are you serious...again with wedding stuff' but then i tell them that when their turns come I'm gonna get it back from them haha

You're entitled! And just remember, you're not planning your wedding for the rest of your life so eventually you wont be 'that girl' anymore!

Re: Oh no, I'm 'that girl'....
i only talk about the wedding on LIW - i dont want to bore my friends and family with wedding talk - because for them it gets boring real quick - i only talk about the wedding when asked and even FH and I try not to talk about the wedding too much either - ive been on the other side and when all someone does is talk about their wedding it can be very obnoxious - this might sound mean but most people dont care about what kind of flowers you are having, what your color scheme is, how nice the RH is, etc. etc. - i even try to avoid wedding talk with my bridesmaids b/c i know how annoying it can be when all someone does is talk about their wedding - there is only so much you can say until you start repeating yourself so my advice is to you is try to keep most of your wedding talk time to LIW you still have over a year to go until your wedding and thats a long time for people to hear about it....just because its exciting for you and your FH doesnt mean its exciting for everyone else - KWIM? im just being realistic - im not saying that people arent happy for you - im sure they are excited for you but its very easy to come off as self absorbed/bridezilla/wedding crazy when all you want to talk about is your wedding and you still have a lot of time before its even happening - if it were 2 weeks until the wedding, or a month, to me thats fine - thats when i plan on chewing everyones ear off about the wedding day but until then i am going to spare them

It's ok! It's bound to happen at some point, you're excited!!
I talked a lot about the wedding at first and now that things are done I can get back to real life and just talking about it once in awhile. I think my friends are happy about that, but I was so exciting when everything first started that they put up with me. Thank god!

It's a sicknes!!!!!! I am constantly fighting with myself about whether to say something or not FH only says 'um hm' and my mom says 'OK darling, well it's your wedding'. I apologized to them like a year ago for the blabbing I would be doing for the 1-2 years to come . They said they totally understood. Everything out there seems to relate to the wedding somehow, right !!!

That's exactly what I meant. I don't want to be the annoying person who chatters on endlessly. And I'm not even really aware that I'm doing it 1/2 the time.
But thanks for all the support ladies. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. I just hate being that person to begin with.
