This might be an old guidline, but I once read that you a basically inactive person, you multiply your weight x10 and eat that many calories a day to maintain your current weight
so if you weighed 135, you can safely eat 1350 a day and not gain anything.. if you exercise a lot, you can tack on a few hundred more calories to provide for the calories you burn.
if you want to lose weight, you go below that guideline
I'm with Peanut .. I'm more than a little obsessive lately, esp. with my wedding less than 2 months away! During the week I've been eating around 1,000 a day, since I sit on my big old butt ALL DAY and cannot seem to lose anything if i don't really keep my calories at a minimum
And then, i ALWAYS blow it on the weekends and eat far far too much ...
I just did that calorie calculator, and it said I need 2,880 to maintain my weight. Thing is, it said how many minutes do you do light activity--reading or driving? I figure I read and type all day at work, so that is a lot of minutes. I have no idea how many calories I eat anyway, but that seemed weird.
I just did one of those calorie calculator things- it told me 1873. I think I've had about 685 today.
I just scheduled my dress fitting today for August 26, so I guess I better pay attention now!
according to this little site, i need 1476 to maintain my current weight...less if i want to lose...so i am right on track, i guess.
wow- you must be tiny. I did the little calculations for FH, & he should eat 2500 to maintain! I'm so jealous. He actually could stand to gain a few pounds, too. . .
I didn't know what to do for the activity levels so I put 500 minutes of the reading categorty & 30 minutes of the walking category, but it is probably more than that.
ETS: I put I did 700 mins. a day of 'light exercise', because it said that includes reading, driving, and I assume typing (which seems as active as reading?)...
