Oh, so get this--a seating issue

Oh, so get this--a seating issue

So my parents want to sit with my mom's first cousins that are traveling far and they don't get to see often. That's fine, and a nice gesture, but that only takes up 4 people. The rest of the table they want for their friends. What ever happened to sitting with your CLOSEST family? Don't they want to celebrate with the people they talk with every day and share the most of their lives with? My mom is like,'we talk to them every day, I want to sit with somone else?' How ridiculous is that? I seriously want to teach my kids to have more family values than that

I agree with you. And plus, once the out of towner cousins are gone after the wedding, guess who's gonna still be around everyday!?!? The people that are in your parents' lives everyday! I think that's gonna cause some drama for the rest of the family. I am really dreading the whole seating plans!

I don't see a problem with it. She has to sit with them, not you, so let her be happy. If she doesn't get to see them that often, then it will be a great time to share in your familys celebration for you.

I agree and honestly the only time they'll be sitting is to eat..so let them catch up. They'll see the rest of the family on the dance floor and mingling...just like the bride and groom make their rounds soo do the parents to thank everyone for coming!!

I agree too, let her sit with whom she wats too, I do not think that has anything to do with family values...IMHO

i agree! Let them sit with whom they want. Why sit with your closest when some of people who are coming, you barely ever see. Why not sit with the ones you don't see when you see the other family members on a daily basis. just a thought.

MIL wanted the same thing. Let her sit with the people she wants to. Don't let something like this stress you out.

I definitely agree. If there are people who you rarely get to see, why would you want to spend time with those you see every day over the people you never get to see?
If it causes drama... honestly, in my opinion, that's being a little oversensitive.
