Oh the drama of the invitation! (mini-vent)

We're having our invitations made in the Philippines and FI's aunt is the one working on it (going to the printing press, etc). In NO WAY did I ask her to do it. It was FI who said HIS FAMILY wants to do it.

Late last night, FI came by and we both worked on the invitation. I made a mock-up invitation while FI did the wording.

When I created the mock-up, I made sure that it is simple enough so that even a gradeschooler can understand it. I took photos of it and even added EXPLICIT instructions on the photo so that whoever looks at it will KNOW and GET what I mean (example: color of invite = ivory, shade = look at the paper i sent from last week, etc). FI & I also read and re-read the wording. It was 12 midnight when we were sure that it looks good and sent it via email to his aunt.

Next thing you know, they call us 5 mins after we hit 'send' and bombarded us with a ton of question. They totally did NOT understand my mock-up invitation! I had to explain it SEVERAL times and they keep asking the SAME QUESTIONS which was driving me nuts!!! Aside from that, they are insisting that there is NO NEED for RSVP CARDs! That it's only an added paper weight! They said no one ever sends it back, people will just call or text. That we should assign someone to call our guests to confirm if they are coming rather than have RSVP Cards! They also said that the GROOMS name goes first before the BRIDE. And the worst part is, they told us that we should spend the whole night fixing our invitation because they plan on going to the printing press tomorrow so they could create a sample draft!!!

I'm like ***?!?! SERIOUSLY?!?!? UHM, FI & I HAVE WORK TOMORROW! AND WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT THERE IS NO NEED OF RSVP?!? HELLOOOOWWWWWWW..... THIS IS THE NORM HERE IN THE USA. I don't remember the norm back there but RSVP IS A MUST!!! She ket insisting and insisting that even FI is getting annoyed! I for one was sooooo pissed and ready to lash out but knew FI wouldn't like it.

So you know what we did? We re-DID our invitation and made it soooooo simple that a BABY can understand. We finished at 2AM! TWO-FREAKIN-A.M. (and I'm supposed to get up at around 6!!!)

When we sent it out, i told FI that if they call back again with such stupid questions and unsolicited advice, THAT IS IT. I'M HAVING MY DAD WORK ON THE INVITATION.
