We're going to dinner with my mom tonight and need a suggestion for a moderately priced, not too fancy restaurant in Midtown East (not too far from 42nd/2nd please!) TIA

Try Josie's on 3rd Ave & 37th. It's really good. I'd add a link, but they blocked the restaurant's site from our work comps

Gyu-Kaku ....on third 3rd Ave Btwn 49th & 50th St (its realllly good...and its fun bc its like asian bbq and u cook food at your table)
