ok 10 months to go AND HAVE NOTHING DONE YET

The only thing we have done are the hall and the church. I dont know where to start.... how do i know if i like a dj or not? its not like a photographer where I can look at pictures. and there is so much to do.... I have no desire to even look at dresses.

You should really start looking for a photographer and entertainment. The more popular companies book early.

Check the vendor listings here and do some searches for ones that seem to have a style you like (for photographers) and ask entertainment companies for videos and showcase dates so you can see how they perform.

And you should start working your self up from some dress shopping. Some dresses can take a while to come in or it could take a while to find one you love. You wouldn't want to be pressured into getting something or end up settling. I can tell you that I was dreading the whole dress shopping thing and ended up LOVING it!

Good luck

its ok - we didn't either for a long long long time - as long as you don't stress out too much, it will all work out!

you still have time!

You have plenty of time. I planned my whole wedding in 10 months, so it's definitely possible. I would start looking at photographers and music next.

I planned everything in a month! (10 and a half months before the wedding) You can definetley do it!

have you tried going to a bridal expo? There, you will see vendors and as for DJ's, ask to see if you can go and view them while they are at a party. My DJ's (In the Mix) gave us a guarantee that if we didn't like them or they didn't do what we requested, we don't ahve to pay them the balance. That's a huge guarantee since I only gave them $200 deposit. There are tons of vendors on this site.
DJ and photos are the biggies, and limos, I would try to get those done asap. Then find a dress. Then flowers and then invitations. I think by the time you start to book things you'll be more 'into' the whole process. It is very overwhelming!! I stopped doing any planning for a few months because we have a long engagement and I dind't want to book too early for some things. But we are 8 months away and so now I am getting back on track!

Great Bridal Expo

Good luck!

Your doing fine.
I agree with the other posts - book your entertainment and photographer. Go to Bridal Expo's, at your hall and at other halls that are in the area or county. Where are you getting married? At the expo's the entertainment plays at the show and the photographer is there with pictures to show.
After you booked that.... Your dress and the BM Dresses.
Florist: 2 months before. Invitiations 4 months before. Tux's 2 months before.
Good luck!

Hey, dont feel bad...I'm in the same boat. Plus, I'm afraid to start booking anything else yet until I have more $ b/c the deposit pretty much took everything out of my savings for the wedding.

Photographer/videographer/DJ (or Band) Most Dj's that are good will give you a mini-showcase & will have video footage of their performances. My DJ actually has a seperate room that has a set-up & we chose a few of our songs & he mixed them for us.
Do that 1st.

Begin calling for hair & make-up, especially if you want someone like Jacqueline Nicole- she tends to book quickly.

GO GET A DRESS... start looking for your dress & see what styles, designers...etc that you like. Also, compare the bridal shops themselves while you shop.

VISIT LIW OFTEN & really use our help! We love to help & these girls are soooooo knowledgeable & HONEST

I can sympathize with you. I dont even have the contract for hall signed yet!!! We are the week before you and we have nothing done either!!! I have been getting suggestions to look for dresses early though because each manufacture takes a different about of time to get the dress in, up to 6 months I have heard!
Dont worry you are not alone though!!!

I can sympathize with you girls also. We know we want a July Sat. afternoon wedding in 2004 (7/17 ideally), however, we are not even engaged yet!!! (Ring is picked out & he said DEFINITELY b4 Halloween, yet I'm keeping my fingers crossed for our cruise in 2 weeks).....Anyway, we also have the added burden of an annulment....so our hands are kind of tied. I think we may just book the hall anyway & then hope the church is free (or goto another church).....

Yet I think if you put your mind to it you can book things pretty quickly....do as much research as you can through here & online and try to get to some bridal shows.

Good luck!

I think I started most of my planning at 10 months, but definately check into photographers as they seem to book up early. Also if you are getting yoru makeup done..I know they can book up early, because they only do one wedding a day. As for a band or a DJ..sometimes those bridal shows have them and you can check them out. Everyone has their own personal opinion on what they like..some prefer bands, some prefer DJ's. If you like original music..go with a DJ. Dont panic though, ten months is a good time to begin your planning!!! I actually didnt get my photographer until 9 months now that I think about it.
