remember when we had that discussion of getting PO'd when people would say why are you rushing you have so much time???? well i just called a vendor to make an appt and would you believe they said wait your wedding is 2006 call us later on next year your too early, you have soooo much time!!! I couldnt believe it, who cares if i want to book now?? Im not posting the vendor b/c they are very good and known on here so i am not being negative towards them just wish people would stop saying that! So now I wont bother calling back

hahahah the same thing happened the other day actually fi and i went to the mall and we well i decided that i want to go look at this limo company just because we were right there and i wanted to see what their fleet was and price ranges
they told me ' oh my god why are you coming now' and i said im not coming to book im coming to look .. yeah well guess what.. cut me off your phone call list buddy im not using you now ......
if i was a vendor i would welcome the costumer thats good business..

I havent had that problem except with one vendor who i probably the same on u are talking about who is really well known here. she/he said to call back after january 1st b/c they are only seeing 2005 people

I can't believe you are encoutering this...I have not had a problem yet with a vendor turning me away because I was 2006...Acutally my photographer is already booked for dates in 2007!

at least im not the only one. I have had someone tell me let me just finish up my 2004 brides but i will make an appt with you now for jan 2005, that i can understand, but turning us away b/c we are 2006 thats insane!! I cant wait to get our own board!!!!!!!!

we booked our hall, church, photo/video and limos all in august of this year. we didn't come across any vendors that gave us a hard time about booking so early. and if they did mention something, i know that the phot/video studio we used, we answered that we are booking early so we know how much $$ we are going to need in 2 years. that seemed to satisfy them.

I haven't had that problem either. I booked both Video and Photography back in April of 2004. None of the vendors I approached turned me away when they heard I was a 2006 bride.

I have not encountered this either. But I am the kind of person that if a vendor told me that, you can bet I won't be going back to them! I have such a service oriented personality (thanks to years of working retail), that even the slightest bit of rudeness or not willing to accept my business, and I get turned off.
May I ask, who was the vendor (FM if you want).

I have not had that problem with any specifc vendor b/c a lot of them get booked really far in advance, BUT i have that problem w/ the general people i encounter that say 'why are you rushing, you have so much time!!' haha
