We have 138 actually yes, and 6 tentative yes's that could bring us to 144.
When I give the RH the final count, do you think it's safe to take the 6 away (from either number), or 14 people???
FMIL said I should do 10%. I think 14 is too much and i really feel offended that she thinks some of my family will cancel on me.

i would say 6 is probably fine ... but just to be safe, i'd put 10 less people.
unfortunately, people have last-minute emergencies (or stupidities) and often can't make it.

I would just take away the 6 tenative yes's. I know alot of girls talk about all the no shows they had..but we had 0 no-shows.

ahh thank you girls.
i'm just going to lie and say i did what she told me too. FH thinks its too much also.
I really have a hard time believing the people that said yes will cancel (unless its a medical reason), everyone wrote notes on the cards that said 'been waiting for this for 26 years' or 'i cannot wait!!!!' etc etc.

just be honest w your RH and say you are waiting to hear back from 6 people. You want to make sure that you haev enough room at your tables and they they are prepared to set up the day of if they all show up.
