I don't know much about the area but the Haborfields school district is top notch.

Also be aware of the taxes - they tend to be quite high.

Hope this helps!!!

I live in Huntington, but I'm on the border of Centerport/Greenlawn. We're in the Centerport Fire Dept., Greenlawn water district. We're also in the Harborfields SD, which is one of the reasons why we purchased in this area. Some of Greenlawn is in the Elwood SD which is highly rated as well.

There are some beautiful homes in Greenlawn!!!! The town is cute, it has a train station if you need to commute and it's close to Huntington & Northport towns as well as being close enough to Jericho Tpke.

Yabbobay grew up in Greenlawn. She can probably give you a better idea of the area since I've only been here for 2 years.

I understand your pain!
FH and I have been looking for awhile, we finally found a house, got our offer accepted and then the sellers new house fell through so they decided to stay!

Its a tough market if you are looking under 375K. Keep your head up and remember that your house is out there its just a matter of time!

FH and I are picky but our thought is that if we dont find OUR home in time we will go to plan 'B' -- an apartment. This puts less stress on us which is good becuase you dont want to settle for something you will be unhappy in!

Good Luck!!

ETA I forgot, there are some NOT nice areas of Greenlawn, my FBIL lives in a GREAT area but we looked at one house and it was not a great area, to say the least!
