Ok before I go Bulistic on them I need your help

I got my dress at Davids Bridal - BIG MISTAKE- my question is did anyone hear or know that Davids sells off the rack only??? They do not order dresses from the manufacturer and when they tell you your dress is on order it means they are waiting to get it from another store? I cant find anywhere in their store signs or website where it says that- am I just suppose to know that? Everyone I speak to says they never heard of that- I think Im gonna get a lawyer- so basically you are getting a dress that 100 million ladys tried on and they just clean it for you- this is according to the store manager.

oh and if any of you have seen these dresses on the rack they are FILTHY with dirt and makeup all over them!!!

I thought that was a known fact...thats the thing with that place. You buy a dress off the rack that who knows how many other people have tried on!

I bought a formal dress there when I was in college and there was a bride in back of me on line...and she said to me 'honey when you get married do NOT come here' she didn't get into but she seemed very upset!

I thought that was how it was there too - you buy off the rack. I hope things work out and you dont lose too much $$ if you go elsewhere!

I knew they sold the dress off the rack, but to say it is 'on order,' seems a little disingenous to me. They should be more frank about where the dress is coming from.

I didnt know that my first dress was supposed to be from davids but it was an oleg cassini gown which I believe they do order for you at least I thought they would

I believe they that when they order you a dress it could possibly be coming from another store, but it is also possible that it is new as well. They don't tell you. And yes, it is an 'off the rack' store, so the dresses on the floor are NOT samples but their actual merchandise. I guess the benefit is that you don't have to wait for your gown to come in to the bridal shop since you can buy it and walk out with it on the same day. If you buy a dress from David's I would suggest thoroughly inspecting it for stains because I have seen dresses with stains and without stains. Also, I do not think you can sue them for this.

Wow!! I had no idea they don't order the dresses. 'on order' has the connotation of calling a manufacturer to place an order and definitely not calling another store to get a loaner dress? That is all semantics just to trick unsuspecting brides to be.

My sister told me to steer clear of there when we went dress shopping in VA but she only said it was because they called to harass her daily about a dress she tried and liked. I guess they work on commission.

Wow, I didn't know that about David's Bridal. Yeah, it is kind of deceptive to me to say 'on order'. How long have you been waiting for the dress?

Yes, they do work on commission but I am pretty sure most bridal salespeople do... I have read in Bridal Bargains, an excellent book, that you can find similarly priced gowns at better quality.

I didn't know this until recently. I would definetly feel scammed!! I hate the store anyway from when my daughter got her bridesmaids dress there for my brothers wedding. The store itself was filthy and the staff was rude and obnoxious. They ordered my daughters dress 2 sizes too big just so I would have to pay for alterations. I told the girl measuring her that the size she tried on was fine and she handed me some garbage about the dress being all stretched out from other girls trying it on so it would need to be ordered bigger. My daughter is a size 4 and they ordered her an 8. Needless to say Im not getting the alterations done there.

3 months ' on order' and it says that on the 'order form' yes it is very deceiving!!!! so now Im waiting again 3 months ( first week of
April for my gown- wedding date April 22!!!) oh I could go on- first dress was def NEW you can sooo tell the difference they ordered wrong color- then RIGHT dress comes in a size bigger and dirty thats when we found out they come from other stores and the kicker the consultant could clearly see the dress was HUGE 1 size made a big difference go figure it doesnt when I buy jeans- that I would have to do major alterations and didnt say anything I guess they want the $$$, so thats when my mom complained, I have to say though the manager was very nice to us BUT it is very deceiving if I knew this I wouldnt have bought the gown. Yes Davids saves you money my dress was 999.99. but to me 1k for a dress even a wedding dress is a lot for something Im only going to where once- I put the extra $$$ towards other vendors. Im just really hurt by this whole thing. I wish I knew and I am sending out to all brides so they dont go through what I am.
